Where we begun
Hi my name is Kathryn, I trained at the Trauma Centre as a Yoga Fascilitator. I offer 1-1 and small group sessions for survivors of trauma as a means to reconnect and self empower. Parts of these sessions include psycoeducation. We look into trauma theory, attachment theory and neuroscience to build an understanding on why the body and brain react the way they do when impacted after stressful life experiences.
Alongside my trauma sensitive yoga work, over the last few years I’ve offered Trauma Informed Communiction seminars in conjunction with the Department of Education as a means to bring awareness in schools on building a more trauma aware system. After feedback from parents, teachers and clients we felt that it would be useful to offer this information outside of schools. I’m excited to announce this workshop for our community for the first time in Gibraltar.

Who is this workshop aimed at?
This workshop is aimed at general public, parents, foster parents who are interested in the effects of relational trauma physiologically and mentally for family members, friends, or possibly yourself for self empowerment.
In this workshop we will never ask anyone to divulge any trauma history they may have experienced. Also this is not a therapy session, we will not be processing trauma, please seek professional medical help if this is what you are after.
We will be discussing questions like:
What is trauma?
What is the difference between stress and trauma?
How does stress and trauma impact my health?
How has someones childhood potentially impacted them later in life?
How can actions that look like "behavioural issues" be linked to trauma?
What tools can we look at and discuss?
How do we become resilient?
How will the workshop be delivered?
I will be using slides, videos and group discussions to explore these subjects.
How this workshop has been funded
I have been very fortunate as to have been funded by the Department of Education who’ve been awarded funds by GIBSAMS and Playtech as an educational community project, this has allowed us to offer this workshop to you for free.
If you feel this workshop may benefit anyone you know who may have been affected by relational trauma feel free to pass on this information and get in touch.
