As an asana category, forward bends are inherently calming to the nervous system and cooling to the body’s core temperature. Whereas backbends tend to heat and invigorate, forward bends are more easeful in nature, even if they are not always easy to perform.
Hold each pose for 5 slow breaths
Don't need no fancy props just use a pile of books, or blankets, cushions or pillows.
Sure, you could eat watermelon or take a dip in the pool, but yoga can help your body and mind chill out... if you have more time you can hold each pose for 10 breaths.
